With the issuance of the NBIS regulation in 2022 and the new coding guide from FHWA, Specification for the National Bridge Inventory (SNBI), PennDOT has started to implement changes in BMS2 and iForms to accommodate changes to current coding items and the inclusion of new fields. Tentatively, on October 1st, BMS2 and iForms will transition to a new set of inspection types. Given the significance of the change, PennDOT has decided to conduct a series of Webinars to announce the changes to the inspection community prior to the changes appearing in the system. Attached to this email are three invites for the Webinar. Users should attend only one (1) of the sessions. They will be exactly the same. PennDOT will provide a question and answer document with all the questions asked during each session and the official response from PennDOT so that everyone receives the same message.

In the future, Central Office will continue to hold these webinars as we transition to BMS3 (the replacement for iForms) and as significant changes are rolled out. Users should continue to monitor the bulletin board (https://www.bms.penndot.gov/BMS2Web/SVBulletinBoardMessageList?action=SHOW) for the announcement of future sessions.
